About The Event

Did you know 92 million tonnes of textile waste are produced every year? Instead of throwing away your old t-shirts, why not turn them into something beautiful?

In this relaxed, hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to transform unwanted t-shirts into yarn and begin your crochet journey. Guided by local artist Dina Klumbys, this beginner-friendly session introduces the basics of sustainable crafting while giving new life to textiles that might otherwise go to waste.

During Part 1, Dina will show you how to create your own yarn from t-shirts and teach the fundamental techniques of crochet. By the end of the session, you’ll have the skills needed to continue your crochet practice at home — and be ready for Part 2 (booked separately), where you can transform your yarn into a beautiful crochet bowl.
