Soft Support Project Reveal

Soft Support is a collective textile artwork made from pre-loved materials through a series of Community Sew & Chat workshops lead by Artist Gal Lashem.

Please join us for the reveal as we share a warm drink and some snacks at Canons House.

The Project:

Participants were invited to bring old textile items that are meaningful to them, which were then transformed into a collective artwork. By working with pre-loved textiles we brought attention to the love, care and support systems in our lives.

The group designed and made a soft space for library visitors to use in the future, while engaging in collective creative activities and discussion.

It was an invitation to both make space and take up space and work towards the project’s outcome - in the form of large cushions for reading, lounging, and rest – to be shared with others in a useful and intimate way.
