About the event

Join Sustainable Merton and facilitator Barjis Chohan at the Preloved Studio for a free workshop on creating a beautiful Ajrak print to upcycle old fabrics and reduce textiles waste! Ajrak textiles are traditionally used in shawls or dresses and display special designs and patterns made using block printing with stamps.


In this workshop you'll learn:

  • The history of Ajrak making in Pakistan

  • how to choose appropriate preloved fabrics for the print process

  • how to design and apply your own Ajrak block print


Workshop skill level: Beginner (no previous experience needed)
